Mission Statement

We, the people of St. Joseph's Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of the Roman Catholic Church Diocese of Oakland with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, make it our primary mission to proclaim the presence of Jesus Christ as we learn, teach, embrace and spread the gospel.
We, as Christians, participate in the perpetual ministry of the Catholic Church. We are loving Christians who serve, listen and worship together and are dedicated to proclaiming our love and concern for all people. This is accomplished through religious, educational and social functions directed toward the special communication needs of the deaf and hard of hearing.
This we profess, though Jesus Christ, and shall continue to love and honor God with all the spiritual and physical blessings given to us.
Advisory Board
St. Joseph's Center is governed by a nine-member Advisory Board. Board members represent the congregation of Union City and Oakland. Under the direction of the Executive Director, they share in the ministry of planning and coordinating the overall policies, services and projects of the Center in accordance with its Mission.
